The reaction to the rodents was varied.

Ms Lozano were co-presiding the plenary consultation when the incident came about. She lightly condemned the throwing of the animals pronouncing: “We admire freedom of expression, but you cannot throw animals. It displays an absence of appreciate.”
The rodents had been launched as senators have been approximately to talk about whether to strip a justice of the peace accused of corruption of his judicial immunity.
Senator Santiago Valencia told Colombian media that four white mice had been thrown from the gallery within a plastic bag stuffed with confetti “which acted like a sort of parachute”.
