Senate Homeland Security Committee chairman Ron Johnson warned Sunday about being \u201csnookered again\u201d by North Korea after the White House agreed last week to denuclearization talks with leader Kim Jong-un.<\/p>\n
Citing previous deals that saw the United States give up more than it got, Mr. Johnson urged the administration to maintain its maximum-pressure policy on North Korea.<\/p>\n
\u201cAgain, you have that history. Let\u2019s not be snookered again,\u201d said Mr. Johnson on CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union.\u201d \u201cLet\u2019s not be Charlie Brown to North Korea\u2019s Lucy. We\u2019ve seen this movie before; that\u2019s why we\u2019ve called on President Trump to make sure that we maintain the maximum-pressure campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Democrat, said she supported the \u201cdiplomatic approach\u201d but worried Mr. Trump would be \u201ctaken advantage of.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019m concerned about: I want the president to succeed,\u201d said Ms. Warren. \u201cWhen the president succeeds in negotiations like this, the United States succeeds, it makes us safer, it makes whole world safer, but I am very worried he\u2019s going to go into these negotiations and be taken advantage of.\u201d<\/p>\n .@SenWarren tells @Acosta she is \u201cvery glad\u201d to see the Trump administration move towards diplomacy on North Korea#CNNSOTUhttps:\/\/t.co\/yfyRAsNirk<\/p>\n \u2014 State of the Union (@CNNSotu) March 11, 2018<\/p>\n She cited concerns about staffing at the State Department, saying it had been \u201cdecimated.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere are a lot of issues involved with them and our State Dept has just been decimated,\u201d said Ms. Warren. \u201cWe don\u2019t have an ambassador to South Korea. We don\u2019t have an assistant secretary for the entire region. There are all kinds of spaces that are open at the State Department generally and particularly in this region, and that matters when you\u2019re going into negotiations like this.\u201d<\/p>\n White House spokesman Raj Shah offered few details Sunday about the logistics of the summit, adding that \u201cnothing\u2019s been ruled out.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a time and a place to be decided. We don\u2019t have an announcement right now but we have accepted this offer and we hope that it can be part of an important breakthrough,\u201d Mr. Shah told ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week.\u201d<\/p>\n Would Mr. Trump go to North Korea? \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s highly likely, but again, I\u2019m not going to rule anything out,\u201d Mr. Shah said.<\/p>\n Could the meeting between Pres.
